We repair more than the list shows — PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch Lite and retro consoles all come through the bench. Tell us what you have and what it is doing, and we’ll come back with what it needs and whether it is worth doing. If the part price is what stops you, ask about a tested used part — a board or a housing taken from a working console, checked before it goes in, where one exists for your model.
Most Common Game Console Repairs
Handhelds crack and lose ports; the big consoles overheat and lose GPUs. Both end up here.
Screen Replacement
Cracked or unresponsive displays on Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck are amongst the most frequent repairs at our Wimbledon workshop. We use genuine Nintendo screens and premium replacements for Steam Deck, ensuring your gaming experience returns to factory quality. Dead pixels, flickering, and touch issues are resolved with proper calibration after installation.
2–3 hours* About Screen RepairsMotherboard Repair
PS5 GPU failures, Xbox Series X power delivery, component damage. Under a microscope with precision soldering equipment we trace chip-level faults that most London shops won’t open a console to look for — which is why a good share of what arrives here as dead goes home working.
1–3 days** About Board-Level RepairCharging & Port Repairs
Loose USB-C ports on Steam Deck and Switch are common after daily charging cycles. Our technicians replace damaged charging ports whilst ensuring proper power delivery specifications. We also repair HDMI outputs on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, restoring full signal transmission for 4K gaming on your TV.
1–2 hours* About Charging FaultsStructural & Physical Repairs
Drop damage and housing cracks affect console functionality and thermal management. We replace cracked Nintendo Switch cases, repair Xbox Series X cooling vents, and fix broken PlayStation 5 panels. Button repairs and hinge replacements are completed using quality replacement parts, restoring both appearance and structural integrity.
1–3 days*Symptoms pointing in several directions? How Diagnostics Works
Times assume the part is ready. We don’t hold stock across every console model, so tell us what you have before you come in and we’ll order it ahead.
Board-level work starts with a diagnosis. Turnaround depends on what the board actually needs once it is under the microscope.
The Difference on a Console Repair
Consoles are the devices most often written off. A PS5 with a dead GPU or a Switch with a lifted port is a board problem, and most shops don’t open boards.
Game Console Repair Specialist in London
PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck — hardware failures, cracked handheld screens, overheating, and the board-level faults that get consoles written off.
Modern consoles are not simple machines. A PS5 or Series X is a custom AMD APU on a dense board; a Switch is NVIDIA Tegra in a handheld shell that gets carried, dropped and charged a thousand times; a Steam Deck is an x86 PC you hold in two hands. Each fails in its own way, and each needs a different bench.
We handle screens and digitisers, USB-C and charging circuits, disc drives, cooling and thermal work, housing and structural damage, and component-level board repair for power delivery and GPU faults. Software too — system crashes, dashboard errors, firmware recovery — keeping saves where it is possible to keep them.
Four things you’ll hear from us first
- What is actually wrong — overheating, a failing GPU and a tired fan can all sound identical from the sofa.
- Whether your saves are at risk. Most repairs never touch storage, but some board work can mean formatting — you hear that before we start, not after.
- Which parts are going in — genuine where they exist, tested equivalents where they don’t, priced separately so you choose.
- Whether it is worth repairing at all. We turn work away when a replacement costs less — controllers being the standing example.
Why We Don’t Repair Controllers
We turn this one down on purpose. Diagnosing a controller, stripping it, replacing the part, reassembling and testing it costs about what a new one does — sometimes more. Stick drift is the usual culprit and the usual disappointment.
So the honest answer is: buy a genuine replacement from a reputable retailer and keep the warranty. We would rather tell you that than take the money.
How a Repair Runs
Pick your console above, tell us what it is doing, and bring it in or post it. We confirm the fault before starting and only get in touch if something unexpected turns up. The full step-by-step is here.
Post Your Console From Anywhere in the UK
Package it with real padding, include the power cable, and send it tracked and insured — worth doing on a PS5 or a Steam Deck. Most postal console repairs are done within 3–5 working days. See exactly how mail-in repair works.

Game Console Repair FAQs
Everything worth knowing before booking a console in.
Which game consoles do you repair in London?
All the major platforms: PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (standard, OLED and Lite), Steam Deck, and retro consoles.
Our technicians work with the custom AMD APUs in PS5 and Xbox, NVIDIA Tegra in the Switch, and the Steam Deck’s x86 platform — everything from a port replacement to chip-level board work.
How quickly can you repair my console?
Screen and port repairs on a Switch or Steam Deck typically take 2–3 hours when the part is ready. Disc drive faults on PS5 or Xbox usually need 1–2 days for diagnosis and calibration.
Board-level work — overheating, GPU failures, power delivery — needs 2–5 days for proper testing and micro-soldering. We don’t stock parts across every console, so booking ahead is what makes the short end possible.
Can you fix overheating and loud fan noise?
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs here. On PS5 and Xbox Series consoles we strip and deep clean the dust, replace the dried thermal paste on the APU, and test the fan properly.
Switch overheating usually needs a fan replacement or fresh thermal pads. A Steam Deck benefits from a repaste and a fan curve check. Most cooling work takes 2–4 hours and the difference in noise is immediate.
Will I lose my game saves?
We never intentionally delete data or modify system files during a hardware repair. Some board-level work can require formatting storage — and if that applies to your fault, we tell you before starting.
Back your saves up first. PlayStation Plus, Xbox Cloud and Nintendo Switch Online all sync them, and a Steam Deck syncs through Steam Cloud. We can’t accept liability for data loss, which is exactly why we push the backup.
Do you use original parts or third-party replacements?
Genuine manufacturer parts wherever they are available — Nintendo Switch screens, PS5 disc drives, Xbox components. For parts with no official supply we use premium aftermarket alternatives that meet or exceed the original spec, and Valve-compatible parts from authorised distributors for the Steam Deck.
We put the options in front of you with an honest explanation of the difference, and you approve the part before we fit it.
Do you repair game controllers?
No — and it is a deliberate no, not a limitation. Diagnosing a controller, stripping it, replacing the part, reassembling and testing it costs roughly what a new controller costs, and often more. Stick drift is the usual fault and the usual disappointment.
The honest advice is to buy a genuine replacement from a reputable retailer and keep the warranty that comes with it. We would rather say that than take the work.
Do you fix software and firmware problems?
Yes. PS5 system software crashes, Xbox dashboard errors, Switch eShop connection problems, Steam Deck SteamOS faults. Factory resets, firmware updates and system recoveries, preserving saves wherever it is possible to preserve them.
We also sort network connectivity, PSN and Xbox Live sign-in trouble, and general performance problems.
Can I send my console in for repair?
Yes, from anywhere in the UK. Package it with proper padding, include the power cable, and send it tracked and insured — worth doing on a PS5 or a Steam Deck.
Most postal console repairs are finished within 3–5 working days. See how mail-in repair works.
What warranty do you provide on console repairs?
All console repairs include a 6 to 12-month warranty depending on the repair type and the parts used. If the repaired component fails through our workmanship or a defective part, we fix it again free of charge.
It doesn’t cover new physical damage, liquid spills after the repair, or unrelated faults.
Booking, opening hours and where to find us are the same whatever we are repairing — they are answered on how it works.
