Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about iPhone, MacBook, Samsung and device repair at Wimbledon

We repair all popular phone models including iPhone, Samsung, Google Pixel and more. We service tablets like iPad and Microsoft Surface, laptops including Apple MacBook, Dell, HP, Lenovo and others. Common issues we fix include cracked screens, battery replacements, water/liquid damage, and accidental damage. You can also bring drones for repair.

Our Wimbledon location is equipped for advanced repairs including component-level motherboard work, complex liquid damage recovery, microsoldering, and comprehensive data recovery. We handle everything from simple screen replacements to the most challenging electronics repairs that require specialized equipment like microscopes and ultrasonic cleaners.

The screen replacement itself takes 1-2 hours, but we need to have the replacement screen prepared for your visit first. If you give us time to prepare the part (usually 1 day is enough), you can come in the next day and we’ll replace your screen while you wait. Please note we require a 50% deposit for orders.

Alternatively, if you bring us your phone first and don’t mind collecting it the next day (or within 2 days maximum when ready), we don’t require a deposit and you only pay once you’ve confirmed you’re satisfied with the repair.

An appointment is not required if you don’t need a while-you-wait repair. If you’re happy to collect your device in 1-2 days (depending on your chosen priority level), you don’t need an appointment.

However, if you want the repair done during your visit, please book an appointment. We’ll contact you for a deposit, and once the part arrives, we’ll call you in. We’ll replace the battery in 30-60 minutes and you’re done.

Our warranty is a minimum of 6 months, sometimes extending to 12 months if the parts supplier provides such a warranty. The warranty covers both parts and labour.

However, we don’t provide warranty on cleaning after liquid damage, as it is a cleaning process. If a problem appeared after some time, it would be due to component damage that wasn’t visible during the initial repair. The warranty doesn’t cover new damage, subsequent liquid exposure, or unrelated issues.

Yes, if your device turns on and we have access to the user password. We don’t do this as standard, but we also don’t delete data, which doesn’t mean we guarantee customer data safety.

We always recommend that customers back up their own data before bringing devices in for repair. If you need assistance with backup, please let us know when booking your repair.

We can provide a preliminary estimate via email or within a few minutes in our shop free of charge. However, a comprehensive diagnostics with precise quote costs £39 for phones, tablets, laptops, drones, and data recovery cases.

Diagnostics isn’t free because it involves substantial technical work: opening the device, running software diagnostics, conducting visual inspection of internal components, attempting preliminary troubleshooting solutions, and checking parts availability and pricing with our suppliers. This process often requires 1-3 days, though simpler issues can be diagnosed within hours if you need results quickly.

If you proceed with the repair, the £39 diagnostic fee is deducted from your repair cost. However, if you decide not to proceed with the repair after diagnostics, the £39 fee is non-refundable as the work has already been completed.

Yes, absolutely. You can send your device to us by courier and we’ll send it back to you once repaired. This is convenient for customers who cannot visit our Wimbledon location in person.

If you’re within London, we can even arrange same-day collection and return service at an additional charge. The courier fee is charged by the external courier company we use for this service. Contact us to arrange courier collection and we’ll provide you with the current courier rates and collection details.
