Most Common Tablet Repairs
These are our most frequently requested tablet repair services across iPad and Microsoft Surface.
Screen Replacement
Our most requested tablet service. We replace cracked or malfunctioning screens with high-quality parts that keep colour accuracy and touch sensitivity intact. iPad and Surface displays are bonded, so they come apart with controlled heat rather than force.

Loose connections, slow charging or a port that has stopped working. We clean, repair or replace it.
1–3 hours* About Charging FaultsMotherboard Repair
Component-level work on logic boards: power problems, connectivity faults and boot failures. Diagnosis first, always.
24–48 hours** About Board-Level RepairSymptoms pointing in several directions? How Diagnostics Works
Times shown assume parts are prepared for your visit. We don’t hold stock — most parts are available from our suppliers for next-day delivery. Contact us first to confirm availability.
Motherboard and logic board repairs require a diagnostic first. Turnaround depends on fault complexity, whether components need replacing, and whether board-level soldering is required.
How It Works

The Difference on a Tablet Repair
iPads and Surfaces are glued shut and packed tight. That is why most high-street shops quote for a screen and stop there.

Tablet Repair Specialist in London
Twelve years repairing tablets in London, and the deepest experience on the two ranges that punish guesswork: Apple iPad and Microsoft Surface.
iPads use tightly bonded screens that have to be separated under controlled heat and reassembled precisely. Surface tablets are built to an exceptionally compact standard with almost no tolerance for a rushed job. Both are repairs where the difference between careful and quick shows up a week later.
We cover screens, batteries, charging ports, motherboard and logic board work, and liquid damage cleaning. For the harder faults — power failures, board-level shorts, corrosion after water — we use thermal cameras, ultrasonic cleaners, hot air rework stations and microscopes. These are the repairs most high-street shops won’t attempt.
Four things you’ll hear from us first
- What is actually wrong — not whichever repair is quickest to sell you.
- What each part option costs, and how they really differ once the tablet is back in your hands.
- What we are risking. Reaching the battery means separating a glued screen. We explain that risk and agree who carries it — before anything is opened.
- Whether it is worth repairing at all. On some tablets the parts cost more than the device is worth, and you should hear that before you spend the money.
Same-Day Means Booked Ahead
Screen replacements and battery swaps take 2–3 hours — but only when the right part is already here. We don’t hold stock, so same-day repair means booking in advance: we take a deposit, order your exact part, and it is waiting when you arrive. Walk-ins are welcome, but if the part isn’t in we will book you back rather than promise something we can’t do.
Post Your Tablet From Anywhere in the UK
You don’t have to be in London to use us. Send your tablet by tracked and insured post from anywhere in the UK — worth insuring, for an iPad or a Surface — and we’ll repair it and send it straight back. Tell us the model and the fault before you send it, so the part is waiting rather than being ordered after your tablet arrives. See exactly how mail-in repair works.
What About Other Tablet Brands?
We can repair Samsung Galaxy Tab, Lenovo, Huawei, Amazon Fire and similar — but parts for these are harder to source and often expensive relative to what the tablet is worth. If yours is outside the Apple or Microsoft range, get a quote first. We’ll tell you honestly whether it makes financial sense before you travel. If the part price is what stops you, ask about a tested used part — a screen or a board taken from a working tablet, checked before it goes in, where one exists for your model.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know before booking a tablet repair.
Where are you based in London?
Our workshop is in Wimbledon: 136 Kingston Road, London SW19 1LY — accessible from Wimbledon Station and the Merton Park tram stop. We carry out the full range of iPad and Microsoft Surface repairs there.
If you’re not in London, you don’t need to travel. Post your tablet in from anywhere in the UK and we’ll send it back repaired.
What are your opening hours?
The workshop is open Monday to Saturday — check our contact page for current times. If you’re planning to come near closing time, we recommend calling ahead to make sure we can complete the repair on the day.
How long does a tablet repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 2–3 hours when parts are ready. iPad screen replacements typically take 90–150 minutes; Surface screens may take 3–4 hours because of their more complex construction. Battery replacements usually take 60–90 minutes. Motherboard and logic board work needs 24–48 hours. We don’t hold parts in stock, so booking ahead is what makes same-day service possible — we order your parts before you arrive.
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Both options are available. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours, but we may not have the right part on the day if you haven’t booked — in which case you’d need to return once parts arrive. Booking in advance means we order your parts beforehand, and the repair is completed during your visit.
Which tablets do you repair?
We specialise in Apple iPad (all models including iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad Mini) and Microsoft Surface (Surface Pro, Surface Go, Surface Book, Surface Laptop). Those cover the vast majority of the tablet repairs we carry out.
For other brands — Samsung Galaxy Tab, Lenovo, Huawei, Amazon Fire — get a quote first; parts availability and cost vary significantly by model.
What parts do you use?
For most repairs we offer two quality tiers: original or OEM-equivalent parts, and high-quality aftermarket alternatives. Original parts match factory specifications exactly. High-quality aftermarket parts perform comparably for everyday use — they may differ subtly in display colour accuracy, but function correctly in all key respects. Both options are covered by our full warranty. We explain the differences and pricing for your specific model before any work begins.
Is my data safe during the repair?
We don’t access or view your personal data. Our technicians test only the repaired function — display, touch, charging — to confirm the repair was successful. Data loss during a repair is extremely rare, but we cannot accept liability for it. Back up your iPad via iCloud, or your Surface via OneDrive, before bringing it in — sensible practice before any service that involves opening the device.
Can you replace the battery in my tablet?
Yes, but it’s worth understanding the process. Most tablets — iPads and Surface devices included — have batteries behind firmly glued screens. To reach the battery we heat and separate that adhesive, which carries a small risk of screen damage.
We always explain this risk before we start, and agree with you who carries it. We never proceed without your full understanding and approval.
Can a Microsoft Surface screen be repaired?
Yes. Surface screen replacements are more involved than a typical phone repair because of the bonded display assembly and tight internal construction, but we carry them out regularly. Turnaround is typically 3–4 hours for a Surface Pro or Surface Go screen. Parts are ordered specifically for your model, so booking ahead is essential for same-day completion. Surface Book repairs are more complex — contact us to discuss your model before booking.
Do you repair faults other shops have turned away?
Often, yes — it’s a large part of what we do. Most shops replace parts; when the fault is on the logic board itself there is nothing to swap, and the tablet gets handed back as unrepairable.
We work at component level: microsoldering, hot air rework, ultrasonic cleaning, thermal cameras and microscopes. That covers corroded boards after liquid damage, tablets that won’t power on, and charging circuits that have failed rather than a port that simply wore out.
Can I post my tablet in for repair?
Yes — from anywhere in the UK. Send it by tracked and insured courier; for something worth what an iPad or Surface is worth, insure it. We repair it and post it straight back.
Get in touch before you send it so we can confirm parts availability and book you in. You can also drop off in person at our Wimbledon workshop.
What warranty do you offer on tablet repairs?
All tablet repairs come with a 6 to 12-month warranty covering both parts and workmanship. If the same fault returns within the warranty period, we fix it free of charge. The warranty doesn’t cover new physical damage, liquid damage after the repair, or faults unrelated to the original repair. Ask us about the specific warranty period for your repair when booking.
