Most Common Google Pixel Repairs

The work that comes through most often, from the Pixel 4 right through to the Pixel 10.

A handset stripped down on the bench at Fixfactor — frame, mainboard, battery and screws laid out

Screen Replacement

Cracked glass, green lines down the panel, touch that has stopped responding. From the Pixel 6 the fingerprint reader lives under the display and arrives with the new one — you re-enrol once. On the 6 Pro and 7 Pro the glass curves onto the frame, so the assembly goes in whole.

1–2 hours* About Screen Repairs

Battery Replacement

An afternoon of runtime, shutdowns with charge showing, or a back panel starting to lift. Replaced with a full-capacity cell and fresh adhesive. If yours is a 4a or a 6a, talk to us first — see the FAQ.

30–60 minutes* About Battery Problems

Charging Port Repair

USB-C that charges only at an angle, or not at all. Cleaned first — often that is the whole fault — then repaired or replaced at the board.

1–2 hours* About Charging Faults

Water Damage Recovery

Ultrasonic cleaning of the board, then component-level work on whatever the liquid reached. Bring it in unpowered; every hour it spends switched on costs you options.

1–3 working days** About Liquid Damage

Camera & Lens Repair

The camera bar is what a Pixel lands on, and the glass over it cracks long before the modules behind do. We replace the glass where that is the fault, and the module where it is not.

Under 1 hour*

Back Panel Replacement

Shattered rear glass replaced and re-sealed. Mention your colour when booking — Pixel finishes change every generation and the wrong one is the wrong one.

Typically 1–2 hours*

Symptoms pointing in several directions? How Diagnostics Works

Times assume the part is already on the bench. We order per repair rather than hold stock, and on Pixel the supply chain is slower than it is for iPhone or Galaxy — tell us your model before you travel and we’ll confirm what is available.

Liquid damage is quoted after the board has been cleaned and read, not before. If corrosion has reached the charging circuit or the power rails, the work runs longer — you hear that at the point we know, not at the counter.

The Difference on a Pixel Repair

Pixels break like any other phone. What is different is what stands between a broken one and a working one.

Any Model, if the part exists The grid is what has a page here, not a boundary. The Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro Fold and the 10a come through too — ask and we’ll price them.
Tensor Boards most shops close From the Pixel 6 Google runs its own silicon. Dense boards, and the usual reason a Pixel gets handed back somewhere else.
Reader Comes with the screen The under-display fingerprint sensor travels with the display, so a replacement brings its own. You re-enrol once.
4a & 6a Battery, by software Google cut usable capacity on two Pixels by update. If yours is one of them, ask before you pay for a cell.

Google Pixel Repair Specialist in London

Twelve years of phones through the same workshop, and Pixels since Google started making them properly.

Screens, batteries and charging ports are the everyday work. What is different about a Pixel is not the repair, it is the supply. Google ships a fraction of what Apple and Samsung ship, so fewer parts are made and fewer are still made two years later. On any other brand the first question is what failed. On a Pixel it is often whether the part still exists — and we answer that before you commit, not after we have your phone.

From the Pixel 6 Google runs its own Tensor silicon. The boards are dense, and most shops will not open one: they replace parts, and when the fault is on the board there is nothing to swap. That work needs thermal cameras, ultrasonic cleaners, hot air rework and microscopes — and someone who has used them for a decade.

Before we touch it

Four things you’ll hear from us first

  • Whether the part exists. On a Pixel that is the first question, not the last. We check availability for your exact model before you commit to anything.
  • What each option costs. Genuine where it can be had, tested aftermarket where it makes better sense for the age of the phone. Both priced before we start.
  • What a replacement changes. You re-enrol your fingerprints, and the phone comes back splash-resistant rather than rated. You hear that first, not after.
  • Whether it is worth repairing. On an older Pixel the screen can cost more than the phone is worth. That is your call, but it should be an informed one.

The Two Pixels Google Slowed Down

The Pixel 4a and, later, the 6a had their usable battery capacity reduced by a software update, and Google ran a support programme for affected 4a owners. If you have one of those two and the runtime collapsed overnight rather than fading over years, say so before you book anything. It is worth finding out what Google will do for you first. We would rather you spent nothing here than paid us for a cell you were entitled to have dealt with elsewhere.

Same-Day Means Booked Ahead

Screen and battery work runs 1–2 hours — once the part for your exact model is here. We don’t hold stock, and Pixel parts move more slowly through suppliers than iPhone or Galaxy parts do. Same-day repair means booking in advance: we check availability, take a deposit, order your exact part, and it is waiting when you arrive.

Post Your Pixel From Anywhere in the UK

You don’t have to be in London. Send it tracked and insured from anywhere in the UK and it comes back the same way. Tell us the model and the fault before you post it, so we can confirm the part is obtainable before your phone is in a box. See exactly how mail-in repair works.

Any Model, If the Part Exists

The grid above runs from the Pixel 4 to the Pixel 9 — that is what has a page here, not the limit of what we take. The Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro Fold, the 10a and the Pixel 11 come through the workshop as well. The two conditions are the same on every handset that comes through here: the part still has to exist, and the price has to make sense to you. Nothing else disqualifies a repair.

On a Pixel that has only just launched the constraint runs the other way: the aftermarket behind a brand-new handset takes months to appear, so on the newest models we check with our suppliers rather than promise. On an older or rarer model a screen or a board can come close to what the phone is worth today. We put that number in front of you before anything is ordered, and people go ahead more often than you would expect — usually because what they want back is what is on the phone rather than the phone itself. If the price is what stops you, ask about a tested used part: a screen or a board taken from a working handset, checked before it goes in, where one exists for your model. It is not always the right answer and we will say so when it isn’t.

Not on the list, or not sure — ask for a quote and we’ll tell you what is possible and what it would cost.

“Adam was incredibly accommodating and helpful! I had taken it somewhere else beforehand where they told me to leave it with them and wait. Adam quickly looked at it and took the time to show and explain and fixed it up in no time! SUPER reliable and amazing work.”

Google Pixel Repair FAQs

Everything worth knowing before booking a Pixel repair.

How long does a Pixel screen repair take?

Screen and battery work runs 1–2 hours once the part is on the bench. We order per repair rather than hold stock, so booking ahead is what makes same-day possible — and on Pixel it matters more than on most brands, because the parts move more slowly through suppliers.

Can you actually get parts for a Pixel?

Usually, and that is the honest headline: on a Pixel the question is more often whether the part still exists than whether the fault is fixable. Google sells a fraction of what Apple and Samsung sell, so the aftermarket behind it is thinner. We check availability for your exact model before you commit to anything, and we tell you when the answer is no rather than take the phone and find out later.

Will the fingerprint reader still work after a screen replacement?

Yes. From the Pixel 6 onwards the reader sits under the display and comes with it, so a replacement screen brings its own sensor. You re-enrol your fingerprints once afterwards — expected, not a fault.

My Pixel 4a or 6a battery collapsed after an update. Is that normal?

It is known, and it is not your battery failing in the usual way. Google shipped an update that reduced usable battery capacity on the Pixel 4a, and later did something comparable on the 6a, and ran a support programme for affected 4a owners. If you have one of those two, tell us before you book: it is worth checking what Google will do for you first, because we would rather you spent nothing with us than paid for a cell you did not need to.

Do you repair the curved-glass Pro models?

Yes. On the 6 Pro and 7 Pro the glass wraps over the sides onto the frame, so there is no glass-only repair — the display assembly goes in whole. From the 8 Pro onwards the glass is flat, which makes those a simpler and cheaper job.

Do you repair Pixels other shops have turned away?

Often, yes. From the Pixel 6 Google runs its own Tensor silicon, and the boards are dense enough that most shops will not open one — they replace parts, and when the fault is on the board there is nothing to swap. We work at component level: microsoldering, hot air rework, ultrasonic cleaning and microscopes. That covers corroded boards after liquid damage, Pixels that will not power on, and charging circuits that have failed rather than a port that wore out.

How does the diagnostic fee work?

Diagnostics is £39, paid upfront — at the counter, or online if you post the phone in. Go ahead with the repair and the fee is credited in full, so the assessment costs you nothing. If the phone turns out to be beyond economical repair, the fee covers the work of finding that out and you walk away knowing.

Where are you, and when are you open?

One workshop: 136 Kingston Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 1LY — walkable from Wimbledon Station and the Merton Park tram stop. Open Monday to Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 9am–4pm. If you are coming near closing, call ahead so we can finish on the day.

Can I post my Pixel in from outside London?

Yes — tracked and insured, from anywhere in the UK, and it goes back the same way. Tell us the model and the fault before you post it, so the part is on the bench when the phone lands rather than ordered afterwards. See how mail-in works.
