Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

The short version

  • We collect what we need to quote for a repair, do it, and keep the warranty honest. Nothing beyond that.
  • We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or profile you.
  • Repair and payment records are kept seven years because tax law says so. Everything else goes sooner.
  • You can ask what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@fixfactor.co.uk.

Who we are

AC TECH FIX LTD (company number 14414393) runs Fixfactor — this website, the workshop at 136 Kingston Road, London SW19 1LY, and everything you deal with as a customer. It is the data controller for your enquiry, your booking and your repair. The Fixfactor brand is owned by Evolfe LTD (company number 12142547) and licensed to AC TECH FIX LTD.

Reach us either way at hello@fixfactor.co.uk or 020 8543 7088.

We also record technical basics that any web server sees — the page requested, the time, the browser. We do not build a picture of you from them.

Why we are allowed to

  • Contract — we cannot repair a device without knowing whose it is and what is wrong with it.
  • Legal obligation — tax and accounting records.
  • Legitimate interests — running the business, preventing fraud, keeping the site working. Never at the cost of your privacy.
  • Consent — marketing emails, published reviews, and the one optional item on our cookies page. You can withdraw it at any time.

Cookies and your device

No advertising, no profiling, nothing that follows you to another website. What little we store makes the basket, the booking and the checkout work. Everything is listed — with how long it lasts and how to refuse it — on our cookies page, which also carries the switch.

Who else sees it

  • Suppliers we cannot work without — payment processing, email delivery, our booking and repair systems, couriers for posted devices.
  • Professional advisers — accountants and, if it ever came to it, lawyers or insurers.
  • Authorities — only where the law requires it.

Every one of them is bound to use your data only for the job we gave them. Some are outside the UK; where that happens we rely on UK-approved transfer safeguards.

Keeping it safe

Access is limited to the people who need it to do the job. Devices left with us are handled on the bench and returned to you; if you give us a passcode it is used to test the repair and nothing else. If you would rather not share it, say so — we will still work on the device, we just cannot run a full functional check until you are back.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it over in a portable form, or stop processing it. You can also withdraw consent whenever you like.

Email hello@fixfactor.co.uk. We answer within one month; there is nothing to pay. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

We update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top moves with it. If a change matters to you, we will say so rather than leave you to spot it.
