Will I lose my data during the repair?

Unlike many manufacturer service centres, we never delete your data at our London repair shops. We never factory reset your device unless it’s a specific software requirement, and we always ask you first. However we cannot be responsible for data loss during repair since it is not possible to predict all possible issues that may occur. We always recommend making a backup of your data before sending your device to us for repair if possible.

How much does a repair cost and is there a diagnostic fee?

We offer fixed prices for standard repairs like screens and batteries at both our London locations. For complex issues such as motherboard faults, water damage, or intermittent problems, we charge a £39 diagnostic fee. Even common symptoms can have multiple causes, so proper diagnosis is essential before any repair. This fee covers 1-2 hours of expert time using microscopes and specialist equipment to identify the root cause. If you proceed with the repair, this fee is deducted from the final bill. For devices previously worked on by another repair shop, the diagnostic fee is £49 due to the additional time required. You always get a quote before we start any work, and the diagnostic fee is not refundable if you choose not to proceed.

Do you use original parts or high-quality alternatives?

We always use the best possible quality parts for the repair and don’t compromise on repair quality. For some repairs we may offer high-quality alternatives to original parts to save you money. Sometimes genuine parts are double the price of alternatives, but we can explain the difference before you decide. All parts are strictly tested at our locations.

Do I need an appointment to visit Victoria or Wimbledon?

No appointment is needed—walk-ins are welcome at both our London locations. However, if you expect repair while you wait, we need at least 1 day notice to prepare the parts for your device. Victoria: We’re inside Spaces Victoria, 25 Wilton Road, SW1V 1LW (ask reception for Fixfactor). Wimbledon: Visit us at 136 Kingston Road, SW19 1LY. It’s always best to email or call us first so we can understand the urgency of your repair and prepare the parts for your device.

How long will I be without my device?

If you book an appointment and we prepare the replacement parts for your visit, we can complete the repair within 1-2 hours, but that depends on the type of problem and device. Most phone repairs (screens, batteries) are completed in 30 to 60 minutes while you wait at our London repair shops. Laptop repairs and diagnostics typically take 1-3 working days depending on the complexity. We know you need your device back fast, so our London technicians work efficiently to minimise your downtime.

Can I post my device if I can’t visit London?

Yes! We offer a reliable mail-in repair service covering the whole UK. Simply book online, select “Send by Post”, and mail your device to our London workshop at 136 Kingston Road, Wimbledon, SW19 1LY. We diagnose it, contact you with a quote, and return it via tracked, insured courier. It’s the same expert London repair service, delivered to your door anywhere in the UK.

Is it worth repairing a water-damaged device?

Yes, but act fast and do not charge it. We have a high success rate with liquid damage repairs using ultrasonic cleaning and microsoldering at our workshops. Even if the device isn’t fully recoverable, we can often prioritise data recovery to save your photos and files. Bring it to our London repair centre as soon as possible for the best chance of recovery.

What warranty do you provide?

We stand behind our quality at both London locations. Most repairs come with a 6 to 12-month warranty. If the part we replaced fails or the issue returns, we fix it again for free. The warranty does not cover physical damage, liquid damage, or issues unrelated to the original repair. With hundreds of 5-star reviews from London customers, we take responsibility for our work.

Should I repair my old device or buy a new one?

We give honest advice at our London repair shops. Generally, if a repair costs less than 50% of the replacement value, it’s worth repairing. Fixing your device is also better for the environment and saves you the hassle of setting up a new one. We can also upgrade older laptops with SSD and RAM or reinstall the software at our London workshops to make them run faster like new.

Do you offer services for businesses?

Absolutely. We work with freelancers, startups, established companies, schools, and flexible office spaces across London. Our business services include on-site IT support, maintenance packages, and SLA agreements tailored to your needs.
