Common Computer Repairs
These are our most frequently requested computer repair services. After selecting your brand and model, you’ll be able to choose from these and many more repair options.
Screen Replacement
Our most requested service. We replace cracked or malfunctioning screens with high-quality parts that maintain color accuracy and touch sensitivity.
Keyboard Replacement
A malfunctioning keyboard can significantly hinder your laptop’s usability. We offer a fast and efficient keyboard replacement service, typically completing repairs within 1 day.
Trackpad Replacement
Experiencing issues with your laptop’s trackpad? We specialize in trackpad replacements, completing most repairs within just a few hours with genuine parts and a 6-month warranty.
Overheating Repair
Older computers often face overheating issues due to dust clogging the cooling system or failing fans. We resolve these problems before they cause major damage to your system.
Water Damage Repair
Our specialized water damage treatment uses ultrasonic cleaning and component-level repair to restore liquid-damaged computers, preventing corrosion and further damage.
Motherboard Repair
We specialize in detailed repairs at the component level using advanced micro soldering techniques, offering a more cost-effective solution than replacing the entire motherboard.
Battery Replacement
We provide high-quality battery replacements, ensuring the new battery is of the highest standard and compatible with your laptop, with a 6-month warranty included.
Software Issues Repair
We resolve software problems including slow performance, startup issues, OS installation, and data recovery. Our experts can fix crashes, errors, and perform system reinstalls.
* Times shown assume parts are prepared for your visit. We don’t hold stock — most parts are available from our suppliers for next-day delivery. Contact us first to confirm availability.
** Motherboard, water damage, and complex fault repairs require diagnostic first. Turnaround time depends on fault complexity, whether components need replacing, or board-level soldering is required.

Inside Our Repair Workshop

Computer Repair Specialist in London
Fixfactor has been repairing laptops, desktops, and all-in-one computers in London since 2014 — every brand, every manufacturer. Apple MacBook, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Microsoft Surface, Samsung, Toshiba, and desktop PCs including custom builds. If it has a motherboard, we repair it.
For modular repairs — screen replacements, keyboard and trackpad swaps, battery replacements, charging ports, hinges, palmrests — we can fix any laptop as long as replacement parts are available. We source parts from trusted suppliers, typically with next-day delivery, and present options and pricing before we proceed.
Motherboard Repair — What Sets Us Apart
This is where Fixfactor genuinely differs from most repair services in London. The majority of larger shops and chains don’t offer motherboard repair at all — they replace the entire board, which is either prohibitively expensive, impossible when boards are out of stock, or means losing your data if storage is soldered onto the motherboard. We don’t do that. We diagnose and repair at component level.
Liquid damage, power surges, overheating failures, GPU faults, common model-specific defects — we’ve seen and repaired them across every major brand. Using thermal cameras, ultrasonic cleaners, hot air rework stations, and microscopes, we trace faults down to the individual component and fix them. This approach saves the board, saves your data, and costs a fraction of a full replacement. It’s the kind of repair that high-street shops and mall kiosks simply won’t attempt.
Book Ahead for Same-Day Computer Repair
Screen replacements and battery swaps can be completed within 2–3 hours — but only when the right parts are ready. We don’t hold stock across the huge variety of laptop models, so same-day repair requires booking in advance. We’ll ask for a deposit to order your parts before your visit. Walk-ins are welcome, but the repair may need to be rescheduled if parts aren’t available on the day.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know before booking a computer repair in London.
Where are your computer repair workshops in London?
We have two workshops in London. Victoria: 25 Wilton Road (SW1V 1LW) — two minutes from Victoria Station. Wimbledon: 136 Kingston Road (SW19 1LY) — near Wimbledon Station and the Merton Park tram stop. Both handle laptops, desktops, and all-in-ones from every major brand. Can’t visit in person? You can post your device or use our courier collection service.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome — you can drop your computer off any time during opening hours. However, we don’t keep replacement parts in stock. If your repair needs parts, we’ll order them and let you know when to collect. Want same-day service? Book ahead. That way we order the parts in advance and have everything ready for your visit.
How quickly can you repair my computer?
It depends on the repair. Component replacements — screens, keyboards, batteries, trackpads — typically take 1–2 hours once parts are ready. We order parts specifically for your appointment, and they usually arrive next day. Motherboard and complex fault repairs — liquid damage, power issues, board-level diagnostics — take 2–5 days depending on complexity. When you book, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe upfront.
What computer brands do you repair?
All of them. Apple MacBook, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Microsoft Surface, Samsung, Toshiba — laptops, desktops, and all-in-ones. We also work on custom-built PCs. Our service covers everything from straightforward component swaps (screens, keyboards, batteries) to advanced motherboard repair and micro-soldering. If it can be fixed, we’ll fix it — regardless of the brand.
Are the parts genuine?
We typically use original or OEM-equivalent parts. When a high-quality aftermarket alternative is available at a lower price, we’ll let you know and explain the difference. You always choose — we present options and pricing upfront, and never proceed until you’ve approved both the part and the cost.
Do you fix software issues and viruses?
Yes — Windows and macOS. We handle OS reinstallations, virus and malware removal, performance issues, startup problems, and system troubleshooting. We also do data migration between computers and data recovery from failing or corrupted drives. If it’s a software problem, we can diagnose and resolve it.
Is my data safe during the repair?
We never intentionally access, modify, or delete your data during computer repairs. Where possible, we remove your storage drive during testing and use our own test drive to verify the repair — your data stays untouched. We reconnect your drive only once the repair is confirmed working. That said, we always recommend backing up before any repair, as unexpected issues can occasionally arise with any hardware work.
Why do you need my password?
So we can fully test your computer after the repair. We need to check the screen, keyboard, trackpad, Wi-Fi, and overall system stability before handing it back. Without logging in, we can’t confirm everything works properly. It’s the only way to make sure you get a fully working device back — not just one that powers on.
Can I send my computer by post instead of visiting?
Absolutely. You can post your device to either workshop using insured tracked shipping, or use our courier collection service if you’re within 2 miles of Victoria or Wimbledon. We carry out the computer repair at our workshop and return it to your door. This is popular with busy professionals who can’t take time off to visit in person.
What warranty do you offer on repairs?
Every computer repair comes with a 6 to 12-month warranty, depending on the repair type and the part used. If a repaired component fails because of our workmanship or the part itself, we fix it again free of charge. The warranty doesn’t cover new physical damage, subsequent liquid damage, or unrelated faults — but anything related to our work is fully covered.
