“The beginnings of Fixfactor, initially known as Raphone, were anything but ordinary. Launched as a partnership, the business journey took a dramatic turn within the first year when only one of us continued to steer the ship. For six months, Raphone was a one-person show, but by the end of 2014, our team grew to three. Fast forward to 2015, we were a bustling crew of six, laser-focused on delivering speedy, on-the-spot and mail-in repair services.

One of our biggest challenges was playing the clairvoyant with spare parts – ensuring we were always prepared for any repair that might come our way. We dabbled in phone personalization, offering unique color transformations not provided by manufacturers, but alas, it wasn’t our golden ticket. Similarly, mail-in repairs of phones and tablets enjoyed a more modest popularity over the years.

Our company’s history was peppered with surprises, the most notable being the unexpected popularity of Google and OnePlus phone repairs. We quickly became the go-to service center in the UK for these brands, a feat we later repeated with Xiaomi. Diving into DJI drone repairs, we initially rode a wave of high demand, which eventually settled into a steady, if smaller, part of our business.

We completely redecorated our office three times, including moving internal walls and replacing the floor. The last refurbishment in 2019 wasn’t just a facelift; it marked our rebranding to Fixfactor. This transformation was all done by us, not by dedicated builders, showcasing our team’s versatility and commitment.

A significant milestone was opening our Fixfactor branch in the city center – initially at Monument, then relocating to Oxford Circus, a mere two-minute stroll from the tube station, a feat that filled us with pride. However, timing was not on our side; the onset of lockdowns hindered our potential, and within a year, we faced the unfortunate turn of losing our office space.

Resilient as ever, Fixfactor downsized to a single store in Wimbledon, where we reinvented our offerings to meet the demands of a changing world. We shifted our focus towards laptop repairs and launched a new data recovery service, armed with top-tier equipment and extensive training. With a talented data recovery specialist on our team, we embarked on this new venture.

Through all the upheavals, some things remained constant: our commitment to repair quality, the convenience of both mail-in and in-store services, and the option of instant repairs. Looking ahead, we’re excited about revamping our website, adding even more repair services and reopening next Fixfactor branch.
