Trade Data Recovery, Under Your Brand or Ours
When a drive is past what your bench can do, you have two usual options: turn the job away, or send it to a lab you have never seen. This is the third.
Two Ways to Work with Us
The difference is who holds the customer. Same bench, same assessment, same approval rules — and you can use one model for some cases and the other for the rest.
Device Collection
You hold the customer. They never speak to us.
- Branding
- Yours. Reports and quotes carry no Fixfactor marks.
- You Earn
- Your own margin, set on top of our quote.
- Use It When
- The customer is yours and you intend to keep them.
Direct Referral
We hold the customer, from the first call.
- Branding
- Fixfactor. You hand over a card carrying your code.
- You Earn
- 15% of every recovery quote paid, reconciled monthly.
- Use It When
- You would rather not handle transport or recovery questions.
Compare Every Detail
| Device Collection | Direct Referral | |
|---|---|---|
| Who Holds the Customer | You do. They never speak to us. | We do, from the first call. |
| Branding | Assessment report and quote come to you without Fixfactor marks. You present the service as your own. | Fixfactor throughout. You hand over a referral card carrying your code. |
| What You Earn | You set the customer price on top of our quote. The margin is yours and we never see it. | 15% of the recovery quote on every case recovered and paid, reconciled monthly. |
| Who Invoices | You invoice your customer. We invoice you. | We invoice the customer directly. |
| Logistics | You send the device, we return it to you with the data. | The customer sends the device and we return it to them. |
| Use It When | The customer is yours and you intend to keep them. | You would rather not handle transport, encryption keys or recovery questions. |
The Cases Worth Sending
- Mechanical Hard Drives Clicking, seized and dropped drives. Head swaps with donor parts matched from our own inventory.
- SSD and Flash Controller and firmware faults, NAND-level work, chip-off where the package allows.
- RAID and NAS Failed members, interrupted rebuilds, parameter reconstruction when the configuration is gone.
- Phones and Tablets Boards that will not power on. Microsoldering is on the same bench, so the case does not move.
- Encrypted Volumes BitLocker and FileVault, with the customer’s recovery key. Never their account password.
- Liquid and Impact Damage Cleaned and stabilised first, because the second power-up is what usually costs the data.
Keep the software-level jobs. If the drive still mounts and the file system is the problem, you do not need us for it.
How a Case Runs
Five steps, two of which are yours. Every price and every route is agreed before it happens.
- 01 You Send the Case Tracked courier UK-wide, or drop in if you are near Wimbledon.
- 02 Hands-on Assessment We report the fault, and what is recoverable and what is not.
- 03 You Get the Quote Recovery price, service level, timeframe. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
- 04 Recovery Standard, Priority or Emergency — each quoted before you choose.
- 05 Return Data on an agreed destination drive, device back to you.
Before You Send: Four Things at Your Counter
None of them takes a minute, and each one either shortens the assessment or stops a recoverable drive becoming an unrecoverable one.
- Stop Further AttemptsNo more power-cycling, rebuilding or formatting the original storage.
- Write Down the StorySymptoms, what has already been tried, and by whom.
- Confirm AuthorityThe customer has authorised diagnostics and the transfer of the device.
- Check EncryptionFinding out at your counter is free. Finding out at ours costs three days.
What Happens to Your Customer’s Data
You are handing over someone else’s files. These rules apply from the moment the device arrives, and they do not change case by case.
- One Workshop Work starts and normally ends in Wimbledon. A specialist partner is used only with your written consent — never as a silent hand-off.
- Logged End to End Every device is recorded from arrival to return, and travels by dedicated courier, never by ordinary post.
- Retention You Can Quote Recovered data is held for an agreed period, then securely deleted. Full terms in the data recovery service policy.
- Keys, Not Passwords Encrypted volumes need the customer’s recovery key. We do not ask for account passwords and do not need access to any account.
Partner Questions
What does it cost to become a partner?
Nothing. There is no sign-up fee, no minimum volume and no annual commitment. One case a year is a perfectly good partnership. We agree the model and the customer-communication rules in writing before the first device moves, and that is the whole onboarding.
How is the 15% paid?
On direct referrals: 15% of the recovery quote on every case that is recovered and paid, reconciled and paid monthly. It is calculated on the recovery fee, not on the £39 assessment. Under the device collection model there is no commission because you set your own price on top of our quote — that margin is yours and we never see it.
Can I keep my own branding?
Yes, under the device collection model. The assessment report and the recovery quote go to you without Fixfactor marks, you present them as your own service and your customer never has to know who did the bench work. Direct referrals run the other way: the customer deals with us and knows it, and you are credited by referral code.
What happens if the recovery fails?
The £39 assessment is the only fee. There is no recovery charge for an unsuccessful attempt, and no charge for donor parts, bench hours or anything else we spent on the case. You get a written account of what was attempted and why it stopped.
Do you take partners outside London?
Yes. Devices travel UK-wide by tracked courier in both directions and most of our partner work arrives that way. If you are near the Wimbledon workshop you can also drop in — several London partners prefer to hand a case over in person the first few times.
Which cases should I send and which should I keep?
Send anything that needs the drive opened, the board worked on, or firmware touched: clicking and seized mechanical drives, SSD controller and NAND faults, RAID and NAS arrays, phones that will not power on. Keep the software-level jobs — deleted files on a healthy drive, a corrupted file system that still mounts — those are yours and you do not need us for them.
What do you tell me if you cannot do it?
That we cannot do it, at the assessment, before any recovery fee exists. If a case needs a route beyond our bench we explain what and why, and it goes to an approved specialist partner only with your written consent. Nothing is quietly forwarded.
How quickly can we start?
As soon as the model, the branding and the customer-authority process are agreed in writing. That is usually one conversation and one email. The first case can follow the same week.
Start a Partner Conversation
Tell us what you run, roughly how often recovery cases cross your counter, and which model fits. Terms, branding and the customer-authority process are agreed in writing before the first device moves.
