The first 11-inch Pro was also the first iPad to take USB-C, and it holds a 29.37 watt-hour cell under a laminated ProMotion panel. Face ID makes the way in more delicate than on the older home-button iPads: the TrueDepth module and its cable run along the top edge of the display and do not forgive a careless lift.
New cell, new adhesive, resealed, then Face ID, charging and the 120Hz refresh all checked before handover. This is now an old enough machine that a tired battery is simply age, and a replacement usually buys several more years of it.
