Apple MacBook Air 15-inch Battery Replacement Service

Professional battery replacement service for Apple MacBook Air 15-inch models released between 2023-2024 (model numbers A2941, A3114). Battery draining quickly, unexpected shutdowns, or “Service Battery” warning? We fit a new, high-quality replacement battery matched to your model and test charging before handover.

Signs You Need Battery Replacement

  • Battery drains within hours of normal use
  • MacBook Air shuts down unexpectedly
  • Device won’t power on despite charging
  • “Service Battery” warning in macOS menu bar
  • Battery percentage jumps erratically
  • Laptop becomes unusually warm during use
  • Battery swelling (trackpad becomes stiff or bottom case bulges)
  • Poor performance after 2+ years of use
  • Battery Health shows “Replace Now” or “Service Recommended”

Booked visits: With the correct battery ready for your appointment, we normally complete the replacement within an hour. Send us your model before booking so we can confirm part availability and timing.

How Battery Replacement Works: Your 15-inch MacBook Air battery is located beneath the top case and secured with strong adhesive. We carefully remove the bottom case, disconnect internal components for safe access, use specialized tools and controlled heating to safely remove the old battery without damaging the top case aluminum, install the new model-matched battery with proper adhesive, and reassemble the device with testing.

Important Safety Note - Swollen Batteries: If your trackpad feels stiff, doesn’t click properly, or your MacBook doesn’t sit flat on a surface, this indicates battery swelling - a potentially hazardous condition. Stop using the device immediately, don’t charge it, and don’t press on the trackpad or bottom case. Swollen batteries contain pressurized gases and can rupture or catch fire if punctured. Contact us before bringing it in so we can advise on safe handling, check the part and confirm the earliest suitable appointment.

Replacement Batteries: We fit new, high-quality third-party batteries matched to your MacBook model, and check charging and battery operation before handover.

Battery Health in macOS: We check charging and the battery readings available on your Mac, then explain what it shows at handover. The detail reported by macOS can vary by model and calibration.

What we test before handover

  • Charging at low, medium and high power levels
  • Battery percentage accuracy - no erratic jumps
  • Sleep, wake and power management
  • MagSafe and USB-C charging indicators
  • Condition reads Normal in System Settings
  • Operating temperature stays in the safe range

All battery replacements are performed at our Wimbledon workshop in London.

12-Month Warranty: All battery replacements include a 12-month warranty covering the replacement battery and installation workmanship.

What to Expect After Battery Replacement: A worn battery can cause short runtime or shutdowns. We check charging and battery operation after replacement; runtime depends on your apps, settings and usage.

Battery Lifespan and Care: Battery lifespan varies with usage and settings. To care for your replacement battery:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures (don’t leave MacBook in hot car or freezing conditions)
  • Use genuine Apple or certified USB-C/MagSafe chargers only
  • Keep macOS updated for optimal battery management
  • Enable “Optimized Battery Charging” in System Settings
  • Don’t leave MacBook plugged in 24/7 (occasionally use on battery power)
  • Store long-term at 50% charge in cool, dry location

Common Questions

  • How long does battery replacement take? With the correct battery ready for your appointment, we normally complete the replacement within an hour. Book ahead so we can prepare the part.
  • Will my data be safe? Battery replacement doesn’t directly affect your SSD or data. We never intentionally delete customer data. However, we cannot guarantee data safety during hardware repairs. By agreeing to the service, you accept responsibility for your data. We always recommend backing up important files before any repair using Time Machine or iCloud.
  • Do you use genuine Apple batteries? We fit new, high-quality third-party replacement batteries matched to your model. They are not Apple-branded. We test charging and battery operation and include a 12-month warranty on the battery and workmanship.
  • What if I have a swollen battery? Swollen batteries require immediate attention and special handling. Stop using the device and don’t charge it. Contact us before visiting so we can advise on safe handling and confirm the earliest suitable appointment. We handle swollen batteries with appropriate precautions; we explain any additional work before it starts.
  • Will battery replacement reset my battery health? We check battery condition, capacity reporting and charging after installation. macOS readings can vary with calibration and battery management; we explain what your Mac shows at handover.
  • Can I upgrade to a higher-capacity battery? We fit a battery matched to your model and do not offer an unverified larger-capacity option for this service.
  • Do you need access to my device for testing? To properly test your MacBook after repair, we need to boot into macOS to verify battery charging, capacity reporting, power management, and system functionality. We can use a guest account if available, or you can provide a user password. If you prefer not to provide access, we can only perform basic power-on testing; we will explain what remains unchecked.

Diagnostics Available: Not certain if your battery needs replacement? Bring your 15-inch MacBook Air to our Wimbledon workshop in London for diagnostics. Sometimes power issues stem from faulty chargers, charging port problems, power management controller faults, or SMC/NVRAM settings that don’t require battery replacement. We’ll run battery health tests including cycle count analysis, capacity verification, charging behavior assessment, and power management diagnostics. You’ll receive an honest assessment and accurate quote before any repair work begins.

Check Your Battery Health Now: Before booking this service, check your current battery condition:

  1. Click the Apple menu () > System Settings
  2. Click “Battery” in the sidebar
  3. Check “Battery Health” or “Condition”
  4. Note the Maximum Capacity percentage and Cycle Count
  5. If your battery shows “Replace Now”, “Service Recommended”, maximum capacity below 80%, or cycle count over 800, battery replacement is recommended. If you’re unsure, bring your MacBook in for free assessment.

    Important: Additional Damage Disclosure

If your MacBook Air 15-inch has any additional damage beyond the battery issue, please mention it when booking your repair:

    • Existing front glass damage (cracks, display issues)
    • Keyboard issues (sticky keys, non-responsive keys)
    • Software issues
    • Liquid damage or exposure to moisture
    • Any other visible damage to the device

If we discover liquid damage and corrosion during repair, liquid damage cleaning may be required at additional cost. Swollen battery or serious damage to casing may also require additional attention. We’ll always inform you and get your approval before proceeding with any additional work. If you choose not to proceed with the repair due to additional damage or costs, a standard diagnostic service fee will apply.
