When the fault is not obvious - the console will not power on, restarts, overheats or behaves differently every day - diagnostics comes first. We test the console and tell you exactly what is wrong, what the fix costs, and whether it is worth doing.
The diagnostic fee is paid upfront and covers the testing work itself. You decide what happens next with a clear quote in hand - no repair goes ahead without your authorisation, and if fixing it is not worth it, we say so.

Allow 1–5 working days for the assessment, depending on how the fault behaves - intermittent problems take longer to pin down than dead-on-arrival ones.
Bring the whole set. Console, power lead, video cable, a controller and a game - or, on a handheld, the charger, its cable and the dock. We test on your own kit, because the leads and the charger are part of the fault often enough to matter, and a console that works on our bench and not on your shelf has not been repaired.
