The rear is Gorilla Glass Victus on an aluminium frame. Cracked rear glass is not only cosmetic on this generation: the panel is part of what holds the phone sealed, and once it is broken, dust and moisture have a way in. It also gets worse on its own - glass that has started to spider keeps going, and loose pieces cut fingers.
There is no wireless charging coil to transfer on this model, which keeps the job shorter than it is on the 1 VI.
The job runs the same way either way: the old panel is released under controlled heat, the adhesive residue is cleaned off the frame, everything that lives on the back - antennas, sensors, flash window - is transferred, and the new panel goes on with fresh adhesive.
