Case Study: Asus ROG - Brought In Just in Time After a Heavy Spill

Device: Asus ROG gaming laptop
Symptom: liquid damage
Diagnosis: heavily flooded; several components eaten through by corrosion
Repair: ultrasonic cleaning, corroded components replaced
Turnaround: ready for collection just over a week after it came in

In our technician’s notes, this laptop was a small miracle: it was still working when it came in, despite how much liquid had got inside. It arrived just in time.

What We Found

Liquid had spread across the board, and corrosion had already eaten through several components. Corrosion keeps working after the liquid dries, which is why a laptop that seems fine after a spill can fail days or weeks later.

The Repair

An ultrasonic bath lifts residue from under chips, where a brush cannot reach. After cleaning, we replaced the components the corrosion had destroyed.

The Outcome

In the technician’s words: working like new. Ready for collection just over a week after it came in.
