Charging Port Issues
Charger not holding, or only charging at certain angles? The Laptop Go uses the Surflink connector, and Microsoft ships it as a replaceable module rather than a soldered port – so a worn connector is a part swap, not board work. We check first whether the fault is the connector, the battery or the charging circuit, because the three feel identical from the outside and only one of them is cheap.
Device Won't Turn On
Nothing at all when you press power? A flat or failed battery, a charging fault, corrupted firmware and a dead board all look the same from the outside. 03My battery is swelling – is it dangerous?
If your screen is bulging or pushing outward, this indicates battery swelling – a potentially hazardous condition. Stop using the device immediately and don’t charge it. Swollen batteries can rupture or catch fire if punctured.
Contact us for urgent same-day battery replacement. Don’t try to puncture or force the screen back down.
04What warranty do you offer?
All Surface Laptop Go 3 repairs include a comprehensive 6-12 month warranty (depending on supplier warranty on parts) covering both replacement parts and installation workmanship. Screen replacements performed during battery or charging repairs are also covered.

05Can the storage be upgraded on a Surface Laptop Go 3?
Yes. Microsoft fits a removable SSD in this model rather than soldering the storage to the board, and it sits under the same cover as the battery. If your Surface Laptop Go 3 shipped with 128GB and is now permanently full, this is the cheapest way to keep it useful.
We clone your existing drive so Windows, your files and your settings come across as they are. Ask us for a quote with the capacity you want – the price depends on the drive, not on our time, because the machine is already open if we are doing the battery too.
06How quickly can you get the part for my repair?
Usually we can have the part in for the next day — though it can be 1–2 days, depending on what time the order goes in and on availability. Surface parts for older models can occasionally take longer, so if timing matters to you, ask us before ordering and we will check your exact model. And if a part is ever delayed, we contact you with the new date rather than leave you guessing.
07How does the diagnostic fee work?
The diagnostic fee is paid upfront — at the counter when you bring the device in, or online when you post it. Go ahead with the repair and the fee is credited in full, so the assessment effectively costs you nothing. If the device turns out to be beyond economical repair, the fee covers the work of finding that out. If you prepaid for a repair and diagnosis shows a different fault, we contact you with options; cancel at that point and we refund the price minus the diagnostic fee, plus a £10 restocking charge when an ordered part has to go back to the supplier.
