The 2024 mini carries the same 19.3 watt-hour rating as the mini 6, in the same tight 8.3-inch chassis, behind the same laminated panel. What differs is age: a mini 7 with poor battery life has usually taken a swelling cell after heat or a knock rather than worn out honestly, and that is worth establishing before anything is ordered.
The display comes off, the old cell and its adhesive come out, a new cell goes in and the device is resealed. Charging over USB-C and Apple Pencil Pro pairing are both checked before it goes back to you.
