A mini 7 that has stopped charging - checked for debris and board faults before anything is replaced.
Service Details
A mini this recent rarely has a worn-out port. What it usually has is a damaged one: something caught the cable sideways while it was charging, or the socket has filled with lint until the plug no longer seats. Both are worth ruling out before anyone opens the device, and both are quick to check.
Where the connector really has failed, it is soldered to the logic board and comes off with hot air, under the microscope, in house. We test the charging circuit at the same time - a board-side fault looks identical from outside and a new port would do nothing for it.
