Loud fan, hot air, or a console that shuts down under load. Full strip, dust removal, new thermal compound and a fan check, then tested under load before it goes back.

Xbox Series X and Series S overheating clean and thermal service
A console that roars during a game, blows hot air, or shuts itself down after half an hour. Both consoles pull air through a single stack, so three or four years of dust in a carpeted room is enough to push temperatures past where the hardware is willing to run.
We strip the console, clean the heatsink and fan properly rather than blowing dust further in, renew the thermal compound and test it under sustained load. Heat is also what kills the parts around it, so this is the cheapest repair on the list and the one that prevents the expensive ones.
