Your repair is weighed against a used unit of the same model, a newer used model and a new one – including what your broken device is still worth in part exchange.

A £120 repair that buys two more years beats a £700 phone that buys five. We compare cost per month of remaining life – the only fair unit.

If the numbers say a repair isn’t worth it, the verdict says so – and points you to a better deal we don’t sell. You’ll remember who told you the truth, and you’ll know where to bring the repair that is worth doing. And when it’s genuinely close, we don’t pretend precision: the tool hands you to a human.

Is the verdict a quote?
No – it’s an honest starting point built on our real prices. Before any work starts we confirm the exact price with you, and nothing goes ahead without your yes.
My device isn’t on the list – is the tool useless for me?
No. Pick “my model isn’t listed” and the calculator runs the same maths on your numbers: your device’s age and what a replacement would cost you, with our typical workshop prices for a device that age.
Don’t you lose money when the tool says “replace”?
On that one repair – yes. We think it evens out: an honest “don’t fix it” is the reason people bring us the repairs that are worth doing. And a retired device can live on as a parts donor for someone else’s repair.
How fresh are the prices?
Repair prices come live from our workshop price list – when a price changes in our system, the calculator follows automatically. Market values of replacements are reviewed periodically; the date is shown in the tool.
