Choose your Huawei model
Not sure which one you have?
On the phone: Settings › About phone gives you the model name and number. Worth checking rather than guessing — Huawei ran the P, Mate, nova and Y lines at the same time and released four different handsets called P Smart. If it will not switch on, send us a photo and we will identify it.
Most Common Huawei Repairs
What comes through the workshop, across the P and Mate series.
Screen Replacement
Cracked glass, dead touch, lines down the panel. On the P30 Pro and the Mate Pro models the glass curves onto the frame, so the display assembly goes in whole rather than the glass alone. P30 and P Smart are flat and cheaper.
1–2 hours* About Screen RepairsBattery Replacement
These handsets are six or seven years old, so a tired battery is the most common thing we see on them — and the cheapest way to get another year out of one.
About 1 hour* About Battery ProblemsCharging Port Repair
Charges only at an angle, or not at all. Cleaned first — on a phone this age that is often the entire fault — then repaired or replaced at the board.
1–2 hours* About Charging FaultsWater Damage Recovery
Ultrasonic cleaning of the board, then component-level work on whatever the liquid reached. Bring it in unpowered; every hour it spends switched on costs you options.
1–3 working days** About Liquid DamageCamera & Lens Repair
Huawei put large camera arrays on the back of the P and Mate phones, and the glass over them cracks long before the modules do. We replace the glass where that is the fault.
Under 1 hour*Back Glass Replacement
Shattered rear glass replaced and re-sealed. Tell us the colour when you book — the gradient finishes on the P20 and P30 are model-specific parts.
Typically 1–2 hours*Symptoms pointing in several directions? How Diagnostics Works
Times assume the part is already on the bench. Huawei parts are ordered per repair, and on this brand availability varies by model more than on any other — tell us which handset you have before you travel.
Liquid damage is quoted after the board has been cleaned and read, not before. If corrosion has reached the charging circuit or the power rails, the work runs longer — you hear that at the point we know, not at the counter.
Huawei Repair in London
Huawei was the phone everyone had in 2018. Then it lost Google, and the UK stopped buying — but the phones people bought back then are still in pockets.
Almost every Huawei that reaches us is a P20, a P30 or a Mate from that era. They were good phones and plenty of them still work, so the repair question is rarely technical: it is whether the part exists and whether spending it on a phone that age makes sense. We answer both before you commit to anything.
Huawei has also never made it easy to know what you own. P, Mate, nova and Y ran alongside each other, and there were four handsets called P Smart. Check Settings › About phone, or send us a photo — getting the model right is what decides the price, and guessing wastes a trip.
Parts: Good for the P20 and P30 Era, Thin After That
Screens, batteries and charging ports for the P20 and P30 families are still obtainable and priced sensibly. Anything Huawei launched from 2020 onwards — the P40, the Mate 40 and 50, the P50 and P60, the Pura line — sold in tiny numbers here, so those parts come from further away and take longer, when they can be had at all. We take those phones, and we check with our suppliers before you leave one with us rather than after. If the price is what stops you, ask about a tested used part: a screen or a board taken from a working handset and checked before it goes in, where one exists for your model. It is not always the right answer and we will say so when it isn’t.
Boards, Not Just Parts
Where a Huawei will not power on, has been in water, or has stopped charging without a damaged port, the fault is on the board and there is nothing to swap. That is component-level work — microsoldering, hot air rework, ultrasonic cleaning, microscopes — and it is most of why phones other shops handed back end up here.
Pick your model above, or ask for a quote if yours is not listed. Either way you get a price before anything is ordered.

Huawei Repair FAQs
The three things worth knowing before you book.
My Huawei is from 2018 or 2019. Is it still worth repairing?
Often yes, and we will tell you when it is not. A battery or a charging port on a P20 or P30 is cheap next to replacing the phone, and those handsets still do everything most people need. A screen is the one to think about: on an older or a Lite model it can be a large share of what the phone is worth today. You get that number before anything is ordered, and the decision stays yours. If the price is what stops you, ask about a tested used part: a screen or a board taken from a working handset and checked before it goes in, where one exists for your model. It is not always the right answer and we will say so when it isn’t.
Can you get parts for a newer Huawei — a P40, a Mate 50, a Pura?
Sometimes, and we check rather than promise. Huawei sold very few phones in the UK after 2019, so the aftermarket here barely covers those models and parts have to come from further away. Tell us the exact handset and we ask our suppliers before you commit to anything — including for phones bought abroad.
I don’t know which Huawei I have.
Settings › About phone gives you the model name and number. It is worth checking rather than guessing: Huawei ran the P, Mate, nova and Y lines at the same time and released four different handsets called P Smart. If the phone will not switch on, send us a photo and we will identify it.
Do you repair Huaweis that other shops turned away?
Regularly. Most shops replace parts; when the fault is on the board there is nothing to swap. We work at component level — microsoldering, hot air rework, ultrasonic cleaning, microscopes — which covers corroded boards after liquid damage, phones that will not power on, and charging circuits that have failed.
How does the diagnostic fee work?
Diagnostics is £39, paid upfront — at the counter, or online if you post the phone in. Go ahead with the repair and the fee is credited in full. If the phone turns out to be beyond economical repair, the fee covers the work of finding that out.
Where are you, and when are you open?
One workshop: 136 Kingston Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 1LY. Open Monday to Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 9am–4pm, and we take posted repairs from anywhere in the UK — tracked and insured both ways. See how mail-in works.
