On the iPhone 17 the battery is reached through the back glass, and the cell is released electrically rather than levered out. The battery cannot be disconnected while the screen is off on this model, so the order of work matters - it is done the way Apple documents it, not the fast way.

We check the charging circuit as well as the cell, because a phone that will not hold charge is not always the battery. If it turns out to be the board or the port, we tell you what we found and quote that separately - nothing is fitted without your authorisation.
