What affects iPhone battery replacement cost?

The model is the main factor, but it is not the only one. A proper quote may also depend on:

• The battery option: quality, capacity reporting and compatibility with the phone’s software can differ.
• How the iPhone is constructed: newer models may require different opening, resealing and post-repair procedures.

Check whether the battery is really the problem

On iPhone 15 and later, open Settings → Battery → Battery Health. On many earlier models, use Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. A Service recommendation, reduced maximum capacity, unexpected shutdowns and noticeably shorter runtime can support a battery diagnosis.

Battery Health is useful, but it is not a complete diagnostic test. Rapid drain can also be caused by poor mobile signal, high screen usage, background activity, a recent iOS update, a failing charging circuit or liquid damage. Check Settings → Battery to see which apps and activities have used the most power before assuming the cell is at fault.

On supported iPhones, Settings → General → About → Parts & Service History can show information about a replacement battery. What appears there varies by model, iOS version, the part fitted and whether the repair procedure has been completed. Ask the repairer in advance what battery information you should expect to see after the work.

What should an iPhone battery quote include?

A clear quote should answer five questions:

1. Is it for your exact iPhone model?
2. Which battery option will be fitted?
3. Are the part, labour and VAT included?
4. What testing and warranty are included?
5. Will you be contacted before any additional work?

If a display is already lifting, the frame is bent or the phone has been repaired before, mention it when requesting the quote. That allows the repairer to flag possible complications before the device is opened.

Will battery replacement erase the iPhone?

A routine battery replacement does not normally erase user data. A backup is still sensible before any hardware repair.
