A rising whine when docked, a rattle that comes and goes, or a fan that has stopped altogether and left the console hot and stuttering. It is a small part doing a lot of work in a case with no room to spare, and docked play is what pushes it hardest.
We replace the fan, clean the heatsink and renew the thermal compound while the case is open, then run the console docked under sustained load to confirm the noise and the temperatures have both come down.
